The internet, terrorism threats and changing laws require a modern approach to policing. Sheridan's Police Foundations program gets you ready for it, including through virtual reality and scenario-based training.
Be sure to visit the Sheridan website for the most up-to-date details. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of their previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses). Sheridan's Police Foundations program has strong relationships with several police services and other law enforcement agencies. These relationships include Internships, special projects, and several volunteer opportunities.
Although not an admission requirement, Grade 12 mathematics or equivalent is recommended. Applicants should be aware of the physical demands of the program as physical fitness and defensive tactics training are integral to the curriculum. Note: In some cases, a criminal record may make it more difficult for students to find program-related employment after graduation.
*Course duration for September starts is two academic years. Course duration for January starts is 16 months continuous. |
